NOSTELL: The last games before Christmas are as follows. Tomorrow the first team are at home to Armthorpe Welfare meet at 1.30pm for a 3pm kick off. The second team tomorrow travel to Stanley Utd for a cup match, meet at noon for a 1.30pm kick off. The third team are away tomorrow against White Hart, meet at 12.30pm for a 2pm kick off. On Sunday Nostell Ladies are away to Middleton Ladies, kicking off at 2pm.
COUGARS: Crofton Cougars ARLFC have no match tomorrow. Games will resume in the new year.
SPORTS: Crofton Sports AFC have two games tomorrow. The first team are away to Battyeford FC Wasps and the second X1 are at home to Horbury Athletic. Meet at the Weavers Green at 12.30pm for 2pm kick offs.
COMMUNITY CAFÉ: Hot seasonal refreshments will be served tomorrow morning in the Parish Council Centre from 10am, helping to raise funds for Crofton Church.
CAROL SINGING: Members of Crofton Parish Church will be singing carols outside the Crofton branch of Sainsbury’s on Monday, December 19 at 7pm.

EGG FARM: Winter opening times at the Shay Lane egg farm are as follows. Closed Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am to 3pm, Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 4pm.

SADDENED: I was particularly saddened to learn the news last week of the death of former Express journalist Stan Archer. A lovely man with always a smile and a kind word, Stan was always keen to talk about his garden, and was the first person to congratulate me when I was appointed to the post of Crofton correspondent back in l977.
COUNCIL MEETING: At Crofton Parish Council Centre on Tuesday, December 20 at 7pm.
CROFTON WMC: Tomorrow evening’s entertainment will be provided by male/female duo Rock the Night starting at 8pm.
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT: Extra seating had to be brought in last Sunday at All Saints’ Parish Church for the carols by candlelight service. Crofton’s new priest-in-charge Jenni Honeyman led the service and sang a solo. Thanks to all for their support, especially to Richard Sellens for his lighting in the church vestibule.
BINGO: Today at Crofton Library a Christmas quiz and bingo with eyes down at 2.30pm.
MONDAY YOGA: Classes have now finished for this year at the Parish Council Centre. There are a couple of vacancies next year in both classes, for more details telephone Judy Downey on 07809 019558.
TUESDAY WALKERS: The last walk of the year takes place on Tuesday December 20, meet on the car park of the community centre at noon.
