COUGARS: Crofton Cougars ARLFC have a first round cup match tomorrow in the White Rose Trophy with a home game against Kinsley Raiders, meet at the Community Centre for a kick off at 2pm.
NOSTELL: Tomorrow’s fixtures are as follows. The first team are away to Long Eaton United, meet at noon for a 3pm kick off. The second X1 are at home to Barwick, meet at 12.45pm for a 2pm kick off. The third team are away to Wrenthorpe, meet at 12.30pm for a 2pm kick off. On Sunday, Nostell Ladies are at home to Altofts Ladies, kicking off at 1pm. On Thursday, January 26 Nostell’s under 19 side are at home to Rossington Main, meet at 6.30pm for a 7.45pm kick off.
SPORTS: Fixtures for tomorrow for Crofton Sports AFC are as follows. The first team are at home in the Rosehill Association Challenge Cup against Rossington Main FC, meet at the Weavers Green at 11.30am for a 1pm kick off. The second team are at home against Brookhouse WMC, meet at 12.30pm for a kick off at 2pm.

BOWLING: Crofton Bowls Club will hold their AGM at the Community Centre on Friday, January 27 at 7pm to elect officials and discuss the new season. Anyone interested in taking up the game will be most welcome.
ALLOTMENT RENTS: Will be collected at the Parish Council Centre tomorrow morning between 10am and noon.
KEEP FIT IN CHURCH: The keep fit course at Crofton Parish Church began last week and will run until Wednesday, February 15 from 7pm until 8pm.
CROFTON JUNIORS: “Inspire” day for pupils in 5R took place yesterday during which parents visited and took part in activities with their children.
THE MANOR: On going at The Manor in Santingley Lane, prize bingo starting at 7.30pm.
BAND: Band members recently voted for their “bandman of the year” which was won by John Roach. John works hard for the band and is also very good to me in supplying me with items of news.
DARBY AND JOAN: Met this week to hear a talk from a representative for the Riding for the Disabled. New members will be welcome at the group, which meets fortnightly, subs are £3 per year, and fortnightly charges are 50p which includes refreshments. The next meeting is on Wednesday, February 1 starting at 2pm until 3.30pm. Support the group or lose it.

ACADEMY: A new basketball club began at Crofton Academy last week. The club meet on Wednesdays after school until 4.30pm, and is open to pupils from KS2. Parents can watch or even join in, cost £1 per child, bring suitable clothes and clean trainers.
CROFTON JUNIORS: The last “Inspire” day for pupils in 5R took place yesterday during which parents joined with their children in various school activities.
CROFTON WMC: John Gillan, a comedy vocalist will be appearing at the club tomorrow evening.
MOTHERS: Twenty four members met last week in the Community Centre for a New Year celebration. A quiz took place, winner was Glenys Le Page. Names are now being taken for a coach trip to the Lavender World on Thursday, July 5. The next meeting on Thursday, January 26 is a bingo evening.
PHOTOGRAPHIC SKILLS: The Friends of Haw Park Wood have just launched a photographic competition. Capture an unusual photograph in Haw Park Wood and you could be in with a chance of a prize. Entry forms can be collected from the Discovery Centre at Waterton Park.
