TRINITY SERVICE: The 10.45am service at Trinity Methodist Church on Sunday will be led by Richard Bowen. At 6pm the Rev Naomi Kaiga will lead worship which will include communion. The junior church will not meet now until Sunday, September 4.
COMMUNION SERVICE: At St Andrew’s Church on Sunday at 10.15am the proper 12 communion service will be led by the Rev Dawn Ingham, readings taken from Romans and Matthew will be by Pat Ekert and prayers for the church, community and world will be by Pam Aveyard. Refreshments will be served after the service.
SIMPLY LEISURE: At St Swithun’s on Monday from 1pm to 3pm Simply Leisure will have a performance by Faceless. Entrance is £1.50 and includes refreshments. This is the last meeting of the summer and the group will reopen on Monday, September 12. Simply Leisure is a group for people over the age of 55 who meet for a couple of hours on Mondays to enjoy visits by various speakers, outings, play games, and generally have fun and form friendships. Grateful thanks go from the group to Maureen Rishworth who is so innovative in both keeping everyone entertained and organising events.
FILM AND FUN DAY:Next Generation, the Wakefield Film Society and residents of Pinderfields/College Grove are organising a free community fun and film day tomorrow on Stanley Royd playing fields (opposite Pinders Primary School on Eastmoor Road) from 4pm until late. There will be kite making, football tournament, bike maintenance workshop, magician, barbecue, and some films. Film clips will be shown outdoors if the weather is fine (inside Pinders Primary if not). Approximate times: 5pm Spongebob Squarepants, 6pm Despicable Me, 7.15pm full length film chosen by the community on the day.
