CAROL SINGING: Last week members of the Thursday Club were entertained by the children of the reception class at St Hilda’s School in Horbury and their teachers. The children sang Christmas songs and carols and delighted the audience with their performance, which was followed by the club’s Christmas party.

TRINITY METHODISTS: The 10.45am service at Trinity Methodist Church on Sunday will be led by Rev Trevor Grewcock. At 4pm there will be a family candlelight carol service, led by Rev Naomi Kaiga. Refreshments will be served after both services.

CHURCH SERVICES: At St Andrew’s Church on Sunday at 10.15am the fourth in Advent communion service will be led by Rev Dawn Ingham, preacher John Milne, readings taken from Romans and Luke by Audrey Warrington and prayers led by Mavis Worth. Refreshments will be served after the service.

CAROLS: There will be a carol service at St Andrew’s on Sunday at 6.30pm.

LEISURE BREAK: At St Swithun’s the Simply Leisure group will be closed until after Christmas. Simply Leisure would like to extend its thanks and seasonal greetings to all who have supported it during the year. Special thanks go to Maureen Rishworth for running the project and arranging speakers and providing ideas to keep the group entertained.

CHRISTMAS BREAK: The Your Space cafe at St Andrew’s has closed for the Christmas holidays. Your Space would like to extend its thanks and seasonal greetings to all who have supported the cafe during the past year.

WELCOME: The Welcome Club invites older people and those with learning difficulties to its weekly activity sessions held from 1pm to 3pm at Wakefield Evangelical Church, Malham Road every Tuesday. Activities include arts and crafts, gentle exercise, music and general knowledge quizzes, music videos and weekly bingo and raffle. It costs £1.50 per session, including all the activity materials and refreshments. The Christmas party takes place on December 20.
