ATHRITIS CARE MEETING: The next meeting of Arthritis Care Rural is on Thursday, November 3 at 10am at Hall Green Community Centre. This meeting will include a slide show of old Wakefield by Keith Wainwright.

HOLMES PLANTATION OPENING: The improvements to Holmes Plantation are complete! To celebrate the efforts of everyone involved, Groundwork would like you to join them planting some Spring bulbs on Saturday, October 29 from 11am - 12.30pm. They will be meeting off Wharncliffe Road, between No.54 and No.56 at the entrance to Holmes Plantation. KETTLETHORPE AGED WELFARE: At last week’s meeting, members celebrated a very special Birthday for Molly Shaw, our new Nonagenarian. Born in Birmingham in 1921, now a much loved local she was showered with cards and presents. A bouquet of flowers was presented to Veronica, who has proved to be a real friendly caretaker at Community Centre.

COFFEE MORNING: Calder Grove & Durkar fundraisers for Wakefield Hospice 

invite old friends and new to a Coffee Morning at the Red Kite, Denby Dale Road Durkar

on Saturday, November 5 from 10am until 12 o’clock. There are a variety stalls including mouth watering home baking. Please call in and support your local Hospice.

HALL GREEN UNITED: This Saturday Hall Green United are away to Littletown FC in the first round of the West Riding County Amateur League Cup, kick off 1.45pm. The Reserves have no game this weekend.

JUNIOR YOUTH CLUB: Hall Green Junior Youth Club is open to every Friday evening from 5pm to 7pm at Hall Green Community Centre. For children aged 6 -11 years old. There will be many different activities each week and a tuck shop! Registration £2.00 per term £1.50 per session plus tuck shop money first session free on registration.

ST PETER’S CHURCH: This Sunday at 10.30am on All SaInts Sunday, Sung Communion will be Celebrated by Canon Stephen Kelly and there will be a Baptism. In the evening at 6.30pm there will be the annual service of the Commemoration of the Dead. Last Thursday members of the Church T Club met at the Wetherby Whaler for lunch.
