COFFEE MORNING: Calder Grove & Durkar fundraisers for Wakefield Hospice  invite old friends and new to a Coffee Morning at the Red Kite, Denby Dale Road Durkar on Saturday, November 5 from 10am until 12 o’clock. There are a variety stalls including mouth watering home baking. Please call in and support your local Hospice.

CHAIROBICS: A new exercise class for those people with mobility problems starts Tuesday, November 8 from1pm till 2-30pm. Helps with posture, helps tone, and makes you more supple. Ideal for those people with Arthritis, Hip replacements etc. Come along and try us out £2 per session includes refreshments.

POLICE MEETING: The next PACT meeting is on Tuesday, November 8 at 6pm at Hall Green Community Centre on Painthorpe Lane.

T PARTY FOR THE TROOPS: Councillor Mrs Cynthia Binns is holding a T party at Hall Green Community Centre on Wednesday, November 9 at 2pm till 5pm. You can help support our soldiers injured in the line of duty. Come and have a cuppa and help our fundraising efforts. All donations of confectionary will be gratefully received.

HALL GREEN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION: The next committee meeting of Hall Green Community Association is on Wednesday, November 9 at 7pm at Hall Green Community Centre.

JUMBLE SALE: Hall Green Community Association are holding a Jumble Sale on Saturday, November 12 at 1pm at Hall Green Community Centre on Painthorpe Lane. Entrance 20p. Many bargains to be had. Any donations of clothes, shoes, toys, books, bric-a-brac etc can be taken to the centre on the morning of the sale or contact 01924 251544.

HALL GREEN UNITED: This Saturday Hall Green United are at home to Golcar United with the Reserve side away at Lower Hopton Reserves. Both matches are in the West Riding County Amateur Football League and kick off at 2pm.

KETTLETHORPE PLAYGROUP: The playgroup is open 5 mornings a week at the Kettlethorpe Community Centre on Standbridge Lane, Kettlethorpe. The group accepts children from children the age of 2 years. If you are interested in registering your child please call in any morning or call 07764190270 or 07834898467. If you have a child under the age of 2 years you can pre-register your child. All staff are first aid trained. There are places available for immediate start but places are limited.

ST PETER’S CHURCH: Last Sunday at St Peter’s Church, Woolley there was Sung Communion for All Saints’ Sunday conducted by Canon Stephen Kelly, who baptised Benjamin Cockell. In the evening Canon Kelly conducted the Commemoration service for the Faithful Departed and candles were lit and names recalled of those commemorated. Organist was Maryrose Lacoux. Next Sunday Sung Communion is at 10.30am and the Young Adventurers will meet in Church.
