HALL GREEN UNITED: This Saturday Hall Green United are at home to Steeton FC in a Premier  Division League match with the Reserves away at Bronte Wanderers Reserves in a Division Three League match. Both matches are in the West Riding County Amateur League and kick off at 2pm.

KETTLETHORPE TENANTS: The date and time of the next meeting of Kettlethorpe Tenants and Residents is Wednesday, January 25 at 6.30pm in the back room of the Community Centre.

CHAPELTHORPE KNITTERS: Knitters are gathering at Saint James Chaplethorpe and Saint John’s Calder Grove in February for a sponsored knit. Needles and wool will be provided and each person with the most rows will win a prize. Full details are in the churches or from Gill on 01924 377395.

SAINT JOHNS’ CALDER GROVE: The Rev Canon Roger Cressey was the celebrant and The Rev Canon Ian Gaskell was the preacher at the Eucharist at Saint John’s Calder Grove.

KETTLETHORPE PLAYGROUP: Kettlethorpe Playgroup is open 5 mornings a week at Kettlethorpe Community Centre on Standbridge Lane, Kettlethorpe. The group accepts children from children the age of 2 years. If you are interested in registering your child please call in any morning or call 07764190270 or 07834898467. If you have a child under the age of 2 years you can pre-register your child.  All staff are first aid trained.  There are places available for immediate start but these are limited.

DOG DIRT: I have had complaints about the amount of dog dirt in the area. It is an offence to not clean up after your dog and you could be fined. Please pick up after your dog and don’t give dog owners a bad name!

COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTRE: Kettlethorpe High School Community Learning Centre is now enrolling for Adult Education Courses starting January 2012 offering a wide range of courses. You may entitled for a FREE course, please speak to a member of staff. Please enrol early to avoid disappointment. Courses include; Introduction to IT (for learners with little or no computer experience), Ballroom for Beginners, ECDL Extra, English and Salsa.
