CONCERT AT WEST WAKEFIELD METHODIST CHURCH: Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir is holding its annual patrons concert at West Wakefield Methodist Church, Thornes Road, tomorrow evening at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8 and are available from Richard, call 376947 for more information. Thom Meredith, an international baritone singer is the guest artist. The varied programme includes pieces from Les Miserables, South Pacific, some traditional choruses and other well loved musical items.

NEW COURSES AT ST GEORGE’S: New courses will be held at St George’s Community Centre, Broadway. An introduction to psychology starts on November 2. A beauty therapy course and floristry course start on January 4. Basic skills courses for English and maths are also held at the centre on Mondays and Thursdays respectively. A work club drop-in session is held on Monday afternoons. Contact the centre if you would like to join a salsa class. WEST WAKEFIELD METHODIST CHURCH: The preacher on Sunday morning at 10am is Margaret Dodd. Rev Jennifer M Gill of Castleford is the preacher at 6pm. The Bible fellowship meets on 7.30pm. On Tuesday the ladies’ group is having a quiz evening at 7.30pm. On Wednesday at 2.30pm the women’s fellowship will hold a harvest service with goods and school supplies going to the Christian African Relief Trust. The men’s group meets at 7.30pm when members will talk about items they have brought.
