BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS: Wakefield St Michael’s Cricket Club are holding a bonfire and fireworks night at the cricket ground on Dewsbury Road/Cross Lane tonight from 6.30pm. Refreshments are available. All children attending must be accompanied by an adult.

COFFEE MORNING: Wakefield North Rangers Group is holding a coffee morning at West Wakefield Methodist Church, Thornes Road from 10am – 11.30am tomorrow morning. Everyone is welcome to attend.

PLAY CLUB: All babies and toddlers, and their carers are invited to join the play club at St James’ Church, Denby Dale Road. The club is held every Tuesday morning from 9.30am – 11.30am.

CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING: Bethany House Healing Centre is holding a pre-Christmas coffee morning on Saturday, November 12 from 10am – 12 noon, at West Wakefield Methodist Church, Thornes Road. Admission is £1, which includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Stalls will include jewellery and craft, cakes and mince pies, tomobola and bric a brac. Bethany is a registered charity which aims to provide a safe place for people who are going through emotionally difficult times in their lives.

PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAMME: St George’s Community Centre is holding a Parent Support Programme covering all aspects of parenting on Mondays from 1pm – 2pm. Also, a Contraception and Sexual Health nurse (CASH) is at the Centre on Mondays from 2pm – 4pm for drop-in advice.

FRIENDS OF CLARENCE, HOLMFIELD AND THORNES PARKS: The Friends of CHaT Parks are holding a concert at Balne Lane Club on Friday, November 25 featuring The Solicitors. WEST WAKEFIELD METHODIST CHURCH: The preacher on Sunday at 10am will be Peter Bolton. Rev Andrew Stead is the preacher at 6pm. Messy Church for families is on Tuesday from 3.30pm – 5.15pm and at 7.30pm the Christian Endeavour meets when Mr M Ferguson is the speaker. Mollie Urquart is the speaker at the Women’s Fellowship on Wednesday at 2.30pm Please book the date of the Church Autumn Fair on Saturday, November 26 from 10.30am – 1.30pm. Also on November 26, at 7pm there will be a concert by the Horbury Victoria Prize Band who were runners up in the recent National Finals of Great Britain.
