WAKEFIELD DIABETIC SUPPORT GROUP UK: The Diabetic Support Group will meet on Monday at West Wakefield Methodist Church, Thornes Road from 7pm to 8.30pm. The guest speaker is Sandra Little, diabetes support nurse from the Lupset Surgery. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

CYCLING FOR FUN: A new, fun cycling activity for adults is starting at Thornes Park Athletic Stadium on Mondays from 10am to 1145am, and Thursdays from 9.30am to 10.30am. Specially adapted cycles, trikes and quads will be available for adults unable to use conventional two-wheeled bikes. Sessions cost £2.70. CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING: Bethany House Healing Centre is holding a pre-Christmas coffee morning tomorrow from 10am to noon, at West Wakefield Methodist Church, Thornes Road. Admission is £1, which includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Stalls will include jewellery and craft, cakes and mince pies, tombola and bric a brac. Bethany is a registered charity which aims to provide a safe place for people who are going through emotionally difficult times in their lives.

PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAMME: St George’s Community Centre is holding a parent support programme covering all aspects of parenting on Mondays from 1pm to 2pm. Also, a contraception and sexual health nurse (CASH) is at the Centre on Mondays from 2pm to 4pm for drop-in advice.

WEST WAKEFIELD METHODIST CHURCH: Rev Tony Walton is the preacher at the 10am service on Remembrance Sunday, which will be all age worship and a parade service. Mrs Jo Smith is the preacher at 6pm. The leadership team meets on Monday at 7pm. On Tuesday at 7.30pm the ladies’ group will make up shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, which will go to children in Swaziland. The women’s fellowship will also filling shoe boxes on Wednesday at 2.30pm. The men’s fellowship meets at 7.30pm.

WESTGATE WOLVES ARLFC: Saturday afternoon sees the Wolves Open Age team return to league fixture when they entertain high flying Championship side Dewsbury Moor. On Sunday morning the Wolves U15s entertain East Hull in the semi-final of the BARLA Yorkshire Cup. The Wolves are looking for any youngster from age nine up to over 18 who want to play rugby league.
