TRINITY CHURCH: tomorrow, Bethany meets in the Parish Centre 12.30-4pm.  7.30pm Knottingley Brass Band concert in the Church.  Sunday 25th. Back to Church Sunday, 10am Holy Communion with Kids Club (ages 4-12) and creche (0-4). This will be followed by a bring and share lunch. Wednesday 28th 10.30am Holy Communion in Church.

OSSETT HISTORICAL SOCIETY: begin a new season of talks on Wednesday, September 28. The title of John Goodchild’s talk is “What the Victorian bank manager heard” and will highlight the Dewsbury business world through a series of confidential notebooks. OSSETT NEIGHBOURHOOD PACT MEETING: Will take place on Tuesday, October 4 from 7pm till 8pm at Broadowler Stores, Broadowler Estate, Ossett.

WAKEFIELD HOSPICE CONCERT: On Saturday, October 8 from 7.30 pm at Ossett Town Hall. Ossett Fund Raising Group for The Wakefield Hospice will be presenting The West Yorkshire Police Band and Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir who for a 3rd year  are joining together to bring you a fantastic evening of music and song. Tickets for the event are now available from The Tyre House, Pretty Things dress shop, W’Mann dress shop, Special Thoughts card shop and via Barbara Kitson (Treasurer) or Carol Worrall (Secretary).

THE KING’S WAY CHURCH: The Christian African Relief Fund are appealing for donations to purchase Mosquito Nets and Community Water Pumps, They also require donations of School Stationery or food with a long sell by dates such as Rice, Pasta, and pulses. It was reported to the church meeting that donations to charities over the last year amounted to over £11,694. Shoe boxes to be filled for the Christmas Operation Shoe Box appeal are now available. Details of items to fill the boxes can be obtained from church members. The church will be open for private prayer and meditation on Tuesday from 10.30am till 12.30am. The Horbury Methodist Church will hold a concert by the St. Raphael Singers at 7pm tomorrow. Tickets are available at the door price £5.  Services on Sunday, September 25 will be conducted by Minister Rev. Mike Jones this is the Harvest Festival and in the evening by Rev. Alan Wilthew of Rothwell.

CHRIST CHURCH: welcomes you to their services each Sunday at 9.am, they have a more traditional service, at 11am we have an informal service with groups for children and the 6pm service which is different every week, so come looking for something new.  We also have a midweek service at 10.15am on Thursday mornings.  Everybody is welcome, if you would like more information telephone 263311 or look at our website www.ccso-uk.org

HOME GROWN HORBURY: are organising regular  Get Growing sessions for anyone who’d like to get involved in growing their own fruit and vegetables. Every Friday and the first Sunday in each month they’ll be meeting up for a couple of hours from 10am until around lunch time at one of their community allotment sites in Horbury and Ossett. All are welcome - Don’t worry if you’ve nowhere to grow anything yet -they’re setting up new community growing plots all the time!!
