THE KING’S WAY CHURCH: An autumn fair will take place tomorrow between 10am and 2pm. There will be refreshments and a variety of stall. The dedication service for the Methodist Women in Britain organisation will take place at 7pm on Wednesday, October 26. The speaker will be Rev Naomi Kaiga. Services on Sunday, October 30 will be conducted at 10.30am by the Minister Mike Jones and 6pm by Sandra Oldroyd of Wakefield.

TRINITY CHURCH: Tomorrow from 12.30pm to 4.30pm Bethany in the parish centre; 6pm in church, organ recital by Matthew Atherton. This is Matthew’s eighth visit to us. Tickets at the door £5. Sunday, October 30, 10am worship for all – communion with Kids’ Club (age four to 12) and creche (age up to four). Thursday, November 3, 7am Alpha course. For more information contact 263497.

OSSETT COMMUNITY CENTRE: Presents Phoenix Brass Band on Friday, November 4. Concerts starts at 7.30pm, tickets £7.50 each including pie and peas supper. Bar and raffle. Tickets available from Colin 01924 275301 or from the centre 01924 274838.

LITTLE RASCALS: Little Rascals is for children under school age and their parents and carers. It is held every Wednesday during term time at Christ Church Parish Centre. Starting at 9.30am until about 11am.  However, if you are dropping older children off at school at 9am, then come along then.  There are lots of suitable toys in the main hall and a quiet room where little ones can play with the garage and train track and also do a craft to take home.  If you care for a little one why don’t you come along, you are very welcome. If you would like more information contact 263311.

OLD OSSETT 2012 CALENDAR: Ossett Rotary Club has launched its calendar for 2012 to raise funds for the club’s nominated charities. The calendar features photographs of old Ossett with reproductions of images of the town and the surrounding district going back to the early 1900s. The calendar is printed on high quality gloss paper and has a page and photograph for each month. It is supplied with a card envelope, suitable for mailing. Club member June Drysdale, who is leading the Rotary team on this project said: “It’s an ideal Christmas gift, just the thing to send to family and friends who no longer live locally.” The calendar, priced at £5, is now available from Ossett Newsagents in the Market Place, C&J Armitage in the Wellgate Centre and from June on 07885 269754.

PHOENIX ALLSTARS MAJORETTES: Has your former troupe disbanded but would still like to be part of a majorette troupe? Why not go along to Phoenix Allstars? It is looking for new girls to join the troupe for the new season which starts on November 1. If you like dancing and making new friends go along to one of its training sessions Tuesday or Thursday at Primrose Hall, The Green, Horbury, Sunday Horbury Bridge Church Hall.
