CHRISTMAS FAIR: will be held at Holy Trinity Primary School today between 5pm and 7pm.  Books, crafts, toy and tombola stalls.  Cafe serving hotdogs and festive fayre.  Also, come and visit Santa in his grotto.  Lots of fun and games for everyone. 

CHRIST CHURCH, OSSETT: Christmas Shopping Evening tonight between 7pm and 9pm at the Christ Church Parish Centre, Vicar Lane, Ossett.  A range of fantastic Christmas gifts for all the familty! £1 door entry all proceeds to Resource (who help supply food to those in need around Ossett). GAWTHORPE BRASS WINTER

CONCERT: is being held tomorrow at the Kingsway Church, Ossett, at 7.15pm. The concert features the workshop/fun shop, training, junior, youth and senior bands. Admission is £5/£3 concessions to include refreshments - all welcome, please pay at the door.

THE KING’S WAY CHURCH: An open invitation is given to Advent Drop-in event tomorrow. Come and create a Christmas decoration. Open 3-6pm, refreshments available. Suitable for adults and children. The church has donated 69 shoeboxes and  £68 to the Operation Shoebox appeal organised by Samaritans Purse. The boxes this year will go to the Swaziland AIDS orphans. Please support our Romanian Orphanage Appeal. Gifts of toys, clothing, toiletries, tinned or dried fruit with long sell sell-by dates appreciated. Gifts need not be new but in good, clean condition. Please bring gifts to church from Monday 5th through to services on 11th December.  The King’s Way Singer will perform a “Concert for Christmas” on Saturday, December 3 commencing at 7pm. Services on Sunday, November 27 will be conducted at 10.30am by John Newsome of Netherton, the 6.30pm will be a circuit service in The King’s Way Church.

YORKSHIRE CANCER RESEARCH: Ossett Committee are holding a Christmas fair tomorrow at Ossett Community Centre between 10am and noon. All welcome.

ONE STOP CHRISTMAS SHOP: Tomorrow from 2pm till 4pm at Christ Church South Ossett (in the church). Café, craft activities, toddler play area, stalls include: Hand-made jewellery, knitwear, fair trade gifts, Phoenix cards, jams and chutneys, Christmas lights, handbags, chocolate & sweets and more! Everybody is welcome.

OSSETT HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 30 when Ruth Nettleton will be speaking about “An Ossettonian in Melbourne”, the story of Peter Nettleton who was one of thousands of Victorians who emigrated from Yorkshire to make a new life in Australia. The meeting will be in Ossett Library and starts at 7.30pm. Please note: If the Library is closed on 30th November due to industrial action, the meeting will be cancelled. 

CHRISTMAS FAIR: Gawthorpe Academy on High Street Gawthorpe are holding their annual Christmas fair on Friday, December 2 from 3.15pm onwards. Tombola, hotdogs, Santa in his grotto, hand made jewellery, hand made soaps, play your cards right, raffle and much more, come along and have fun all welcome.

OSSETT COMMON ROVERS JFC UNDER 14s: Ossett Common Rovers celebrated their seventh straight league win against a spirited Royston Team and are now top of the Charles Rice Combination League.  It is an outstanding achievement for a team which only formed three years ago and to be chasing their second title.  Keep it up lads and good luck for the rest of the season.
