GARDENING EVENING: On Wednesday, January 18, Joe Maiden, Radio Leeds gardening expert, will be the guest speaker at Chantry Wine Circle’s monthly meeting in Ossett. There will also be a question and answer session where any particular problems or points can be raised. There will be a charge of £4.50 for the evening which includes a buffet supper.  The venue is the Scout Headquarters at Manor Road, at 8pm. Contact Maureen on 07587 008571 to book or for more details.

WEDDING EXHIBITORS: Trinity Church is holding a wedding fair on Sunday, April 29 between 11am and 4pm and still have a few stalls available for exhibitors at just £60. If you are interested in exhibiting contact Caroline on 01924 278499 or 07738 239110 for further information.

THE KING’S WAY CHURCH: The church are collecting postcrds, used or unused for the benefit of Mission Aviation Fellowship and postage stamps for The Bible Society. Give these to any church member or hand them in at church.  Both services at 10.30am and 6pm on Sunday, January 15 will be conducted by Rev Mike Jones. The morning service will be covenant and communion.  The church will be open for prayer and meditation every Tuesday from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

MARKET DAYS: Don’t forget Tuesday and Friday are market days in Ossett. You will find a vast selection of stalls both outside on the precinct and inside the town hall.

INDOOR CAR BOOT SALE: The Elizabethans are holding an indoor car boot sale at Ossett War Memorial Community Centre on Saturday, February 4 from 10 am to 1pm. Tables are limited and early booking is advisable and they are £7 each. Contact the organiser on 01924 263618 or e-mail ossettwe-fair@yahoo.co.uk

LITTLE RASCALS: Little Rascals is for children under school age and their parents and carers. It is held every Wednesday during term time at Christ Church Parish Centre. Starting at 9.30am until about 11am. However, if you are dropping older children off at school at 9am, then come along then.  There are lots of suitable toys in the main hall and a quiet room where little ones can play with the garage and train track and also do a craft to take home.
