OUTWOOD PARISH CHURCH: Tomorrow eucharist 8am. Sunday, September 18, morning prayer and eucharist 8am, parish mass 10am, all the family welcome,children’s group in vestry, tea/coffee afterwards, evening prayer 6.30pm. Tuesday, September 20, eucharist noon. Wednesday, September 21, eucharist 9.30am. Thursday, September 22, eucharist 7pm, monthly requiem. Friday September 23, eucharist noon.

PARKSIDE METHODIST CHURCH SERVICES: Services on Sunday September 18 will be led by Thelma Crossley at 10.30am and by Rev Naomi Kaiga at 6pm. Harvest celebrations will be held over the weekend of September 24/25, starting with a cabaret style concert with a hot supper, admission by ticket only, available from social committee members, price £8.

PARKSIDE METHODIST CHURCH: Babies, toddlers and carers coffee mornings have restarted on Wednesday mornings 9.30am-11am, cost £1.50.

INFORMATION MEETING: Journey in Faith. A new programme is starting soon in St Martin de Porres Catholic Parish, which includes Newton Hill and Outwood, for anyone interested in joining or discovering more about the Catholic church. There is an open information meeting in St Austin’s rooms on Wentworth Terrace on Tuesday, September 20 at 7.30pm.

CAR BOOT: Newton Hill Cricket Club holds its end of season car boot sale on Sunday, September 18 at 7am. Sellers will be £5 a car and refreshments will be available.

TRIP: Bevin Community Group holds a trip to the Beamish agricultural show on Sunday, September 18. Tickets are £22 adults and £15 kids; price includes entry to Beamish and coach fare. Picking up in Outwood, phone 07504 799124.

CRAFT FAIR: The Mayor of Wakefield Coun Ros Lund, will host a craft fair at Outwood Memorial Hall, tomorrow 10am-4pm. Free admission, light refreshments available.  In aid of the mayor’s chosen charity Pinderfields Burns Club.

PLAYTIME: Parent and child group Mondays 9.15am-11.15am at Outwood Memorial Hall. Grandparents and childminders are all welcome too. No need to book.

ZUMBA DANCE CLASS: New Zumba class at Newton Hill Primary School starting tomorrow (Saturday) 2pm-3pm for adults, £4 per session. For further details phone Kirstie on 07791 466694.

PARKSIDE PAINT & PALETTE GROUP: The annual exhibition is being held tomorrow at Parkside Methodist Church. It will be opened at 10am by Rev Naomi Kaiga. Demonstrations by artist David Newbould at 11am and 2pm. Stalls and refreshments including lunches will be available. Admission £1.
