AUCTION: Have you got any items you could donate for an auction in aid of church funds on Saturday October 22 in the Church Institute?  Please contact the churchwardens 01924 825524 or 01924 822694.

CHILDRENS WORKSHOPS: The date of the next children’s activity session, to be hosted by Cubs and Beavers, will be Thursday October 6 from 6pm-7.30pm in the Church Institute.  All primary school aged children welcome.

OUTWOOD PARISH CHURCH SERVICE DAYS AND TIMES: Sunday October 2 The Parish Mass 10am – all  family welcome.  Children’s group in vestry, tea and coffee afterwards. Wednesday October 5 Eucharist 9.30am. Thursday October 6 Worship at Rooks Nest Academy 9.10am. Eucharist 12noon, West Ridings Nursing Home Communions Airedale House 3pm, Wensleydale House 3.45pm. Friday October 7 Springhills Sheltered Housing communions 9.45am, Eucharist 12noon.

 

PARKSIDE METHODIST CHURCH SERVICES: Services on Sunday will be led by Rev David Hall at 10.30am and by Rev Andrew Stead at 6pm. Everyone welcome.

WAKEFIELD & DISTRICT

FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY: Tomorrow the Society will be holding its Research & Information morning. Available will be laptops, microfiche readers, publications and information desks. There will be representatives from West Yorkshire Archives, Local Studies at Balne Lane Library, Ian Laidler and his medal collection and much more. Venue: Outwood Memorial Hall, doors open from 9.45am. All welcome.

FUNDRAISER: To say thanks to St Gemma’s Hospice and raise funds for them, there is going to be a fundraiser tomorrow at Outwood Institute 12.30pm-4pm. There are going to be plenty of stalls for you ladies: including handbags, jewellery, clothing, make-up, nails, however, not forgetting the men and children there will also be DIY gadgets, face painting and toy tables. There is a raffle with some great prizes that have been donated by local businesses. Free admission.

ZUMBA DANCE CLASS: Zumba class at Newton Hill primary school every Saturday 2pm-3pm for adults. Only £4 per session: just turn up on the day. For further details phone Kirstie on 0779 146 6694.

FUNDRAISER: Hedgehugs 2nd Birthday Due to insufficient bookings the table top sale has been cancelled, but instead there will be a fundraiser for Hedgehugs, Saturday October 15: Outwood Memorial Hall 10am-12noon. Coffee morning, Cake Stall, Tombola and much more – all welcome. Good quality items are always needed for the tombola stall - items can be left at the library. PUBLIC MEETING: The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) is holding a public meeting, for the attention of all parents of primary aged children. The meeting is ‘Safe at School’, and is being held on Tuesday October 4 at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall, Leeds Road, Outwood.
