RYHILL ART SOCIETY: Artist Tim Rose’s demonstration at the last meeting of Ryhill Art Society on October 5 featured a painting of the interior of St Paul’s Cathedral. The guest artist at the next meeting will be Philip Knigg, on Wednesday, October 19 at 7pm at St Paul’s in Ryhill. Admission is £3.50 including refreshments.

MULBERRY CLUB: The next meeting of the Mulberry Club will be on Monday October 17, from 6pm to 7pm for seven to 11 years and from 7pm to 8pm for 12-19 years. The club is multi-skills based for disabled youngsters, with games, skills activities and socialising. Sessions are £1.50.

COUNCIL SURGERIES: Couns Albert Manifield and Maureen Cummings will hold their next surgery on Friday, October 21 at 9.15am-10am, at Havercroft Learning Centre, Mulberry Avenue, Havercroft. Home visits can also be arranged by contacting Coun Cummings on 01924 363165 or Coun Manifield on 01226 726219.

WALTON METHODIST CHURCH: The preacher on Sunday at 10.30am is Rev Patricia Aitchison. Tomorrow, the third Saturday coffee morning is from 10am to 11.30am. There will be cakes, books, crafts and brick-a-brac stalls. Admission is £1 including tea/coffee and biscuits. On Monday the after tea dance group meets from 6.30pm to 9pm for an informal evening of mixed dancing. On Tuesday, open door coffee morning is from 10am to 11.30am. Craft class is on Wednesday from 9.30am to noon.

FASHION SHOW: The Wakefield Branch of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research holds a show and sale given by The Complete Clothing Company on Wednesday, October 19 at Walton Community Centre, Shay Lane, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 including a glass of wine, and some familiar faces will be appearing on the catwalk modelling items from well-known stores. Clothes and accessories will be on sale afterwards at bargain prices. Ring Janet on 01924 259884 for tickets or pay on the door.
