HAVERCROFT PARISH COUNCIL:The next meeting of Havercroft-with-Cold Hiendley Parish Council will be held in Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre on Wednesday February 8. In council news, they were able to gain re-accreditation as a Quality Parish Council. This status demonstrates that the council are representative of the community, competent and capable of taking on an enhanced role. In achieving the re-accreditation the Panel were impressed that the Parish Council is active in the community and were pleased with a good record of achievements.

NEW COURSE: A New Health and Social Care level 1 course will be starting at Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre on Tuesday 31st January, from 9.30am – 12.30pm. This course is ideal for those wanting to know more about this area with a view to working in the sector. For more information please contact the centre on 01226 727824.

WINTER WALK: There will be a charity winter walk on Sunday January 29th, beginning at 2pm at Anglers County Park. This will be a guided walk of 1.5 hours duration. Entry fee is £5, which will contribute to the Dr Jackson Cancer Fund charity which has supported the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust for over 30 years. WALTON METHODIST CHURCH: The Rev Richard Oldroyd will lead the service on Sunday at 10.30am. Tomorrow is the Third Saturday Coffee Morning. This will be from 10 - 11.30am, with Cakes, Books and Craft stalls. Admission is £1 including tea/coffee and biscuits. On Monday the After Tea Dance Group meets from 6.30- 9pm for a programme of mixed dance. This is an informal evening where everyone is welcome. On Tuesday Open Door Coffee Morning is from 10 - 11.30am, Craft Class is on Wednesday from 9.30am - noon.
