WRENTHORPE CRICKET CLUB: There is a Car Boot Sale at the cricket field on Sunday September 25 2011. It starts at 12.00 and the gates open at 10.30am. Sellers cars cost £8 and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

WRENTHORPE METHODIST CHURCH: On Sunday at 10am, our preacher is Rev. David Dixon.

WRENTHORPE MISSION:  On Sunday September 25 Communion is at 10.30am and the monthly Café Style Guest Service is at 6.30pm.  Bible Study is at 7.30pm Tuesday 27.  Mission One for 5 - 10 year-olds is at 3.30pm on Wednesday 28, with Prayer and Praise on Thursday 29 at 7.30pm.  All are most welcome.

ST ANNE’S: We are celebrating ‘Back to church Sunday’ this weekend.  If you have not been for a while you will be very welcome.  The Parish Eucharist is at 10am and light refreshments will be served at the end of the service. Children’s church will meet in the church hall. There will be a Church open day on Wednesday from 9.00am until 6.30pm.  All are welcome

HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING: Wrenthorpe St Johns Fund Raising Group are holding a Coffee Morning in the Methodist Church Hall, Wrenthorpe tomorrow from 10am to 12pm. Various stalls including bric-a-brac cakes books jigsaws tombola. Admission £1 (including tea/coffee/ biscuits).

ART AND CRAFT EXHIBITION: If you have any art or craft items you wish to exhibit then bring them to St. Anne’s Church Hall between 8.30 - 10.30am tomorrow. Do come and see the many and varied arts & crafts, demonstrations and some opportunities to ‘have a go’. Open to the public from 11.00am-4pm. Free admission. Refreshments including bacon butties available.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Re-Connect is an independent Registered Charity working with older people in Wakefield area. We are looking for volunteer drivers to our mini buses all the training given. For more information please contact Re-Connect on: 01924 274400

CHARITY AUCTION: Will be held at Wrenthorpe Club, this evening at 7.30pm, in memory of Taylor Sheldrake. Lots to bid on. All money raised will be donated to Candlelighters Children’s Cancer Charity in Yorkshire.

YORKSHIRE CANCER RESEARCH: A concert will be held October 1 at Silcoates School, Wrenthorpe. Skelmanthorpe Male Voice Choir and Gawthorpe Brass Band will perform from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8 each, for more information please contact Joy Sale 01924 863131.
