49 CLUB: There are two trips organised, Disney on Ice in Sheffield November 11 and Blackpool Illuminations on the October 30. To book places can you please contact Carole on 01924 362807.

ROOM HIRE: Wrenthorpe Methodist Church have the Church Hall available for hire at various times of the week at reasonable rates. Please contact Doreen Youngman on 01924 820850 to enquire regarding the bookings.

ST ANNES: On Sunday the Parish Eucharist is at 10am. Children will meet in the Church hall and light refreshments will be served at the end of the service. On Wednesday Holy Communion is at 9.15am followed by refreshments with the church remaining open until noon

MACMILLAN: Please come and join us at the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning next Saturday, October 1st, at Valley Crescent Centre, 10am until noon. We will have hot and cold drinks, home-made cakes, raffle, bric-a-brac and lots more. The venue may be small but we can make a big difference by supporting Macmillan Cancer Support.

GARDENING CLUB: The next meeting of the Gardening Club is in the village hall on Wednesday, October 5, at 7.30pm when Terry Morris will talk about growing Gladiolus for garden and show with a practical class. Competition items are a pot plant, a vase of 3 stems of flowers and a cauliflower.

YOUTH CLUB: Following its summer break, the Youth Club held at Valley Crescent Centre has re-opened on Monday evenings at 7pm.

COMMUNITY COFFEE MORNING: The next community coffee morning at Wrenthorpe Methodist hall will be next Saturday October 8, from 10am to noon. Books, unwanted presents and clean outgrown clothing are always wanted to raise additional income. All proceeds from the morning are donated to local groups.

DANCING CLASSES: Street dance and cheerleading classes every Wednesday at Wrenthorpe Methodist church hall. Contact Kirstie’s School of Dance on 07791466694 for further information.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Re-Connect is an independent Registered Charity working with older people in Wakefield area. We are looking for volunteer drivers to our mini buses all the training given. For more information please contact Re-Connect on: 01924 274400

HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING: The Coffee Morning held at the Methodist Church in Wrenthorpe last Saturday raised £249. The local Fund Raising Group wishes to thank everyone for their support.
