WAKEFIELD TOGETHER PARTNERSHIP: Area forums confirmed dates and venues Wakefield Central Thursday, November 10, at St Swithen’s Centre, Eastmoor from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
AREA FORUM: The area forum date for Wrenthorpe area is Tuesday, November 8, Kingswood Suite, Wakefield Town Hall, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
HOSPICE AUTUMN FAIR: The autumn fair run by the local Fundraising Group in Wrenthorpe Village Hall on Saturday, October 22 raised £1,540 for the hospice. The group wish to thank everyone for their support.
WRENTHORPE METHODIST CHURCH: On Sunday at 10am, Barry Firth is preaching.
WRENTHORPE MISSION: The morning celebration will be held on Sunday at 10.30am with Peter Clothier, and its “café style” guest service is at 6.30pm.
ST ANNE’S: On Sunday the parish eucharist is at 10am. Children will meet in the church hall and light refreshments will be served at the end of the service. The annual All Soul’s Day memorial service will be held on Sunday evening at 6pm. On Wednesday communion is at 9.15am followed by refreshments with the church remaining open until noon.
WRENTHORPE GARDENING CLUB: The next meeting is on Wednesday, November 2 at 7.30pm in Wrenthorpe Village Hall. This is the evening of the annual meeting when memebers learn who are the overall winners in the monthly competitions, receive a copy of next year’s programme and pay their annual membership fee of £5. The monthly competition will be 1. An autumn vase 2. A photograph “This year in my garden”.
TABLE TOP SALE: On Saturday, November 5 there is a coffee and bacon butty morning with a table top sale, in Wrenthorpe Methodist Church Hall, 10am to noon. For more information or to book a table ring 01924 370302.
MUSICAL EVENING: Popular music played by local artists. At Wrenthorpe Methodist Hall, November 19. Tickets are £5 each with all proceeds going to the Cross Project, these can be purchased from the Cross Project Office or telephone 01924 370302.
COMMUNITY COFFEE MORNING: The next community coffee morning at Wrenthorpe Methodist Hall will be next Saturday, November 5, from 10am to noon. All proceeds from the morning are donated to local groups.
PACT MEETING: The next PACT meeting will be held at Valley Crescent Centre on Wednesday, November 2 at 7pm. The meeting after this will be on Tuesday, December 13 – note change of day and date.
SURGERY: Betty Liles and Annemarie Glover, local councillors for Wrenthorpe, Alverthorpe, Outwood and Kirkhamgate will hold their monthly surgery at Valley Crescent Centre (off Valley Drive) Saturday, November 5 from 10.30 to 11.30am. Please note that all future surgeries will be held at Valley Drive.
