THE KING’S WAY CHURCH: A coffee afternoon with cake stall and bric-a-brac takes place on Tuesday, August 9 from 2pm to 4pm, for Action For Children. 

OSSETT STROKE CLUB: Celebrated Yorkshire Day at its meeting on Monday at the community centre with cakes and tea kindly provided by Bettys of Harrogate. All the items in the raffle were of a Yorkshire theme. Any stroke survivor in the Ossett area who would like to join the club can get information from the leader Ann Grace on 01924 242933 or Patricia Sutton on 01924 274406.

CAR BOOT SALE: Thornes Junior FC holds a car boot sale on Saturday, August 20 between 8am and noon at Queens Drive Playing Fields, Ossett. Cars/vans £10. WMDC approved.Toilets and refreshments available.

OSSETT NEIGHBOURHOOD PACT MEETING: Takes place on Tuesday, August 24 from 7pm to 8pm at Broadowler Stores, Broadowler Estate, Ossett.

WAKEFIELD FC UNDER 11s: Is looking for new players, boys and girls, for the new season starting in September. Training in Thornes Park on Mondayd from 7pm to 8pm, with a level two coach. Contact David on 07831 262870.

OSSETT POLICE STATION SURGERIES: Ossett police holds surgeries on Fridays at the outside market from 10am to 2pm. The next surgery at Broadroyd House, Fairfield Road takes place on Friday, August 19 from 10am to 11am.
