Two teenagers stole a puppy early this morning.

A brown nine-month-old bullmastiff called Chez was taken from a house on Haselden Road, Lupset, at around 6.30am today (Thursday).

The small dog, worth around £500, was one of a few puppies up for sale.

Two men went to the house asking to see the dog, but when the owner held up the puppy for them to take a photo, the suspects grabbed it and ran away.

They ran off up Townley Road towards the Sainsbury’s Local shop, where they had previously been spotted at around 6.15am.

Both suspects were Asian and around 5 ft 5 inches tall.

They were both slim, had cropped short hair and were wearing dark jeans. One teenager was wearing a grey hooded top and the other was wearing a plain black hooded top.
