A sophisticated cannabis farm was put out of business on Sunday night.
Officers from the Central neighbourhood police team executed a warrant on Balne Lane yesterday.
After going into the house they found a crop of 100 mature plants ready to be harvested and bagged up to be sold on the streets of Wakefield.
Police said the set up could have produced more than £100,000 of the Class B drug within a year.
PC Pickering said “This is one of the most advanced set ups that we have seen in a long time. A lot of people don’t realise the potency of cannabis makes it a very harmful drug and that cannabis farms such as this are often run by organised criminal gangs.”
Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
