Firefighters tackled a car blaze in Crigglestone this morning.

A crew from Ossett Fire Startion spent around 45 minutes dealing with the incident outside an address on Blacker Lane, after being called out at 3.55am.

Watch manager Steven Mitchell said the fire, which gutted a small, stolen Citroen car, is believed to have been started deliberately.

He said: “There was no imminent danger to nearby homes, but the fire was in danger of spreading to other cars.”
