Police arrested two people after carrying out a drugs raid in Lupset.

The raid took place on Snapethorpe Road at around 9.30am this morning (Thursday).

Officers seized cannabis, which had been bagged up.

The drugs were found by officers from the Central neighbourhood police team (NPT) after tip-offs fromthe community.

Insp Richard Close said: “We rely on the community being vigilant and letting us know of drug use so we can act and take it off the streets.”

A 35-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Both were taken to Wood Street Police Station to be quizzed by officers. They were still in custody as the Express went to press.
