Armed police officers were called to a street in East Yorkshire yesterday following reports of a Wakefiled man in possession of a gun.
Humberside Police were called to the West Street area of Bridlington yesterday (Sunday 2 August) following a call from a concerned member of the public.
A spokesperson for the force said: “49-year-old Gary Andrew Pickersgill of Whitehall Crescent, Wakefield has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place and released on bail to appear at Beverley Magistrates Court on Wednesday August 19.
“The charges relate to a call from the public reporting a man with a firearm in the West Street area of Bridlington at 1.50pm on Sunday August 2. Trained firearms officer attended and an imitation firearm was recovered.”
