Detectives investigating an incident in Sharlston are trying to trace a man seen wearing a Christmas-style jumper and bobble hat.

On Wednesday a man was seen acting in an agitated fashion on Grime Lane at around 8.05am.

He was seen by a young girl who ran off and told her parents who reported the incident to police.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police wish to stress that no contact at all was made by the man towards the girl and he did not speak to or follow her.

“There is no suggestion whatsoever that the man had any untoward intentions towards the girl.”

The man is described as white, in his 50s, around 5ft 8ins tall, of large build with a moustache.

He was wearing a Christmas-style jumper which was mainly white and wearing a red and green knitted bobble hat.
