Police are hunting for two men who shouted racist abuse at passengers on the train.

It happened on the 5.45pm London Kings Cross service between Leeds and Wakefield on Tuesday, January 21.

PC Ruth Miller, investigating officer, said; “Two men racially abused a number of passengers in Coach B on the service. They both boarded the train at Leeds and departed at Wakefield Westgate at around 6pm. Police were alerted about the incident and attended but the men had left the station before their arrival.”

One of the suspects was in his mid 60s with grey hair. He was wearing a blue and white sweater and was carrying a yellow Morrison’s bag for life.

PC Miller said: “We believe that there may have been a number of people on the service and in Coach B at the time of the incident who may have witnessed what took place.

“If you were on board the service at the time, we urge you to come forward as you may have information crucial to our investigation.”
