A pair of teenagers have been arrested in connection with a terrifying raid on a Sainsbury’s store.

A gang armed with a sledge hammer burst into the store on South Parade, Ossett.

After threatening staff they made off with cigarettes worth around £10,000 and cash.

Detectives said the gang of five parked up outside the shop in a silver Ford Mondeo before carrying out the raid at around 10.45pm on Sunday, May 18.

Police confirmed a 19-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman had been arrested in connection with the robbery.

They have both been released on bail and then investigation is ongoing.
