On Tuesday Ryan tweeted: “My beloved 335 has been stolen in NY.”

A post on The Cribs’ Facebook site said: “Ryan’s sunburst Gibson 335, a guitar he has toured with extensively for the last few years, has been stolen in New York. It was stolen in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area and has already been sold, however it’s whereabouts are unknown.

“Please, please could you keep an eye out for it, it could be in any pawn shop/music store in the area and may be in a very distinctive Gibson hardcase with ‘The Cribs’ sprayed on it in red.”

Ryan, who grew up in Netherton with his twin Gary and their younger brother Ross, is also the frontman of Exclamation Pony.

The guitar has the name ‘Jen’ on it which refers to his Exclamation Pony bandmate Jen Turner.
