Update - CCTV pictures released by Wakefield detectives after robbery

Detectives hunting two robbers have released CCTV images of two suspects.

A 55-year-old woman was attacked yesterday lunchtime as she stood at a pelican crossing on Marsh Way.

One of the robbers ripped her necklace off and tried to grab her handbag.

She was knocked to the ground, causing a cut to her head.

The robbers ran off towards Pinderfields Road.

He was a dark skinned man of Eastern European appearance. He was about 5ft 2ins tall, of medium build and was wearing a green or grey parka jacket, a hooded jumper and dark jeans.

Detectives said a another man approached the crossing at the same time who could have been an accomplice.

He is also Eastern European, and is about 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build.

He had short dark hair and a dark moustache. He was wearing a dark jacket and dark jeans.
