A man was bitten by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier as he walked his dog in a Wakefield park.
The 61-year-old was walking his pet in Wrenthorpe Park at around 7.30am on Saturday, May 16, when he has approached a black Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
It is alleged that the dog had bitten the man’s dog and as he intervened to separate the two animals, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier has bitten him on the hand.
The man required hospital treatment for the injury.
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier was being walked by a white man, described as aged in his mid 60s to early 70s, wearing a blue coat and carrying a dark wooden walking stick.
PC Paul Wake, of Wakefield Central Neighbourhood Policing Team, is urging the man, or anyone with information about who he is, to come forward.
