Woman charged over incident on Westgate in Wakefield city centre

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after an incident on Westgate during  the early hours of Sunday morning.

Three people including a serving officer were seriously injured in the collision which happened at 01.24am outside the Black Horse.

The officer and the other injured male remain in a serious condition and the injured woman remains in a critical condition.

Anyone with any information about the incident should contact police on 101 quoting log 147 of Sunday, July 11 .

Officers are particularly keen to speak to witnesses who helped remove the driver of the vehicle and a taxi driver who was thought to be in the area at the time.
