PUPILS became crime scene investigators to solve a mystery at their school.
Children at Stanley Grove Primary School examined evidence and interviewed witnesses as their school became a who-done-it crime scene.
Classrooms were turned into forensic laboratories in the science days at Aberford Road on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The youngsters took photographs and used microscopes to look at hair, fingerprints and soil samples as they gathered evidence to solve the mystery.
Science teacher Michelle O’Kane said: “We wanted to raise the profile for science and these days have really enthused the children.
“It is so fantastic to see all the children working corroboratively and having real enthusiasm for science.
“I can see we will have lots of eager scientists for the future.
“We have lots of exciting activities planned leading on from this as the whole school topic next term is science-based.”
