A dad and his daughter were left shaken up after a man walked on top of their car as they drove down Western Avenue, Pontefract.

The father was driving slowly because of a school crossing when the man walked into the road, forcing him to stop the car.

The man then walked over the top of the vehicle from the front to the back, causing damage to the paintwork and alarming the driver and his young daughter, who was a passenger in the car.

The dad got out of the car to speak to the suspect, who became agitated and aggressive and tried to kick him.

Another man then became involved and moved the suspect on and advised the driver to get out of the way to avoid further confrontation.

Officers from Pontefract and Knottingley neighbourhood police team (NPT) are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Western Avenue, close to Baghill Lane, at 3.30pm on Friday, October 23.

The suspect is described as white, 6ft 2in, of slim build, with dark hair. He was wearing a grey jacket and blue jeans.
