PEOPLE are invited to donate to a crisis centre which helps the homeless and vulnerable tomorrow.
Volunteers from Resource Aid, which provides food parcels and help with housing, will be at the Sainsbury’s supermarkets at Trinity Walk and Ings Road from 9am.
Shoppers will be encouraged to donate food items like pasta, rice, tins, tea, and cereal to help people struggling to put food on the table.
Resource aid teamed up with Wakefield MP Mary Creagh to organise the event. Ms Creagh will be at the Trinity Walk store from 10am.
She said: “Sadly growing numbers of people in Wakefield are struggling to put food on the table through this double-dip recession and local charities are struggling to meet this increased demand.
“This Saturday’s food donation drive will make a real difference to people’s lives.”
