A MAN accused of murdering two teenage girls in Eastmoor is expected to appear in court this morning (Wednesday).

Ahmed Otak, 18, of Linton Road, Eastmoor is charged with the murders of Kimberley Frank, 17, also of Eastmoor, and Samantha Sykes, 18, of Horbury.

Otak is alleged to have committed the offences at Kimberley’s flat on Barden Road, Eastmoor, on Friday March 9.

He is also charged with the kidnap and false imprisonment of his former girlfriend and Miss Frank’s older sister, Elisa Frank, 19, between March 9 and Sunday, March 11, at locations within the UK.

He also faces another charge of possessing a kitchen knife in a public place and is expected to appear at Leeds Crown Court for preliminary hearing.

The girls’ bodies were discovered on Saturday, March 10, by West Yorkshire Police officers after they were contacted by police in Dover.

Yesterday (Tuesday), Coroner David Hinchliff opened an inquest into their deaths.

A post mortem revealed Miss Frank and Miss Sykes died from multiple stab wounds including injuries to the neck.

The inquest heard that they were pronounced dead at Miss Frank’s flat at 10.30am on Saturday, March 10.

Giving evidence at Leeds Coroner’s yesterday, Chief Insp Simon Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiries Team (HMET), who is leading the investigation, said: “Entry was forced to the property and inside officers discovered the bodies of two females who were deceased. A murder investigation was then commenced.”

The inquest was adjourned pending further investigations and burial orders were issued to both girls’ families.
