Wakefield Trinity fans are counting down the days until they cheer on their team in their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-final clash.

The club take on Warrington Wolves in the cup and victory will propel them to a thrilling final at Wembley.

Trinity defeated quarter-finalists Huddersfield Giants comfortably by a score line of 28-16 to reach the last four.

And captain Danny Kirmond says the chance of cup final glory would be “great for the fans and for the city”.

The semi-final match takes place at Leigh at 2.30pm on Saturday, July 30.

Kirmond told the Express: “Wakefield as a club haven’t been there for a long time and it would be great for the fans and for the city if we could get to the final.”

Trinity have won the Challenge Cup five times before and they last lifted the trophy in the 1962-63 season.

Adult tickets for the game start at £20 for non-members.
