This is the final call for entries for the sixth annual Wakefield Business Awards 2016.

The awards will to celebrate all our great city has to offer including great businesses , a thriving night time economy, independent retailers, two great shopping centres and a host of national retailers making it a must visit destination.

The ceremony will be held at Unity Hall.

This year for the first time, the district’s best retailers will be celebrated with new categories in the contest.

The National Retailer category is for any national chain with a Wakefield outlet and will be judged on trading performance and standards locally.

Companies which contribute to the city’s night time economy can be nominated in the Evening Retailer category.

And retailers not trading under a parent company or chain can enter the Independent Retailer category, which celebrates the city’s diverse high street firms.

So if you are one of the best in business or a top retailer, that needs recognition for the service you provide, then you need to make sure you are in with chance of winning an award by submitting a nomination.

And there is still time to get your entries in.

The categories are: Lifetime Achievement, National Retailer of the Year, Employee of the Year, Small to medium sized business of the Year, Evening Retailer of the Year, New Business of the Year, International Business of the Year, Customer Service, People’s Choice, Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Independent retailer of the year.

The awards, on Thursday, June 16, take place at Unity Works, and truly celebrate vibrant and flourishing businesses across the city which have not only provided great customer service and products, but also jobs for the community and helped boost the local economy.
