POLICE were called to a Frickley Athletic football match after a window on a bus believed to belong to a rival team was smashed.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police attended the South Elmsall stadium, on Westfield Lane, shortly after 9pm last Tuesday.
The Express understands the bus belonged to FC United of Manchester, which was playing against Frickley in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.
Officers were also called to reports of rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour but the youths involved, who were ejected from the stadium, had left by the time the police arrived.
The match, which finished 0-0, was attended by 487 fans.
A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The vast majority of people who go to football matches are genuine, law-abiding fans. Those people who attempt to ruin the atmosphere at games are not and will not be tolerated.”
