Former Wakefield Wildcats star Keith Mason hopes to be a knockout off the rugby pitch as well as on it after landing a role in a new Hollywood film.
The 31-year-old player will star alongside Mickey Rourke and Daryl Hannah in Skin Traffik.
Keith, 31, who has also been a prop for Castleford Tigers and Huddersfield Giants, plays the role of Rourke’s bodyguard in the movie.
He said: “It’s been a whirlwind. To have a part alongside some of the best actors there’ll ever be is just amazing.”
Mason became pals with Hollywood star Rourke after a chance meeting in a nightclub after the Huddersfield Giants’ Challenge Cup final appearance at Wembley in 2009. He told him his dream of becoming an actor and after several auditions, the rugby star landed the role in the new movie – as long as he learned his lines in two weeks.
