FOUR men were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences following a raid at a city centre takeaway restaurant.
Officers from the UK Border Agency found a 42-year-old Indian man who had outstayed his visa and a 25-year-old Pakistani man who had given false identity details working at Shalamar, on Westgate.
Two other Pakistani men who had also outstayed their visas, aged 61 and 23, were then arrested at a home on Pinderfields Road as a result of information gathered during the raid on Thursday last week.
If the men are confirmed as offenders they will be deported.
And if Shalamar managers cannot show they carried out proper checks on their staff the business will be fined £20,000.
The restaurant was targeted as part of a nationwide crackdown on immigration crime.
