FAIRGROUND rides, majorettes and a singer will entertain families at Kettlethorpe Gala.
It takes place on Saturday on the playing fields behind Standbridge Lane Community Centre.
Charities taking part this year include Cancer Research, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Lifeboat Fund.
There will be stalls, zumba dancing and refreshments.
Coun Monica Graham said: “The gala has been funded by the Kettlethorpe Tenants and Residents Association.
“The profits will be used to take the elderly residents of Kettlethorpe for a Christmas dinner at Hendal Primary School.
“This is a gala not just for the residents but to bring the whole community together.”
The mayor of Wakefield Coun Elaine Blezard will open the gala at noon.
Visitors can also have their say on the development of Standbridge Lane Community Centre.
