NEW toys are helping to keep kids in Crofton entertained thanks to a council grant.

The Tiny Tots ‘n’ Bouncing Babies group splashed out on a whole host of new toys and craft materials after it was awarded £400 from the council’s community chest scheme.

The group, which was originally founded in 2000 by some local mums, was taken over by Kathy Seastron and her friend Adele Hicks last May.

Mrs Seastron, 30, of Greenside Park, said: “We were delighted to receive the grant because we only charge 50p per family, so by the time we’ve bought refreshments, paid for toys to be repaired and for the insurance, there’s never anything left for new toys and equipment.

The group meets every Monday at Shay Lane Primary School from 9.30am to 11am.

Anyone who would like to find out more or to volunteer should call Mrs Seastron on 07547 506243.
