A musical fundraiser in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance will be held in Ossett next week.

There will be live music and performances from six live acts at Ossett Central Working Men’s Club on Wednesday.

Karen Clarkson has organised the event after her daughter, Siobhan Petts, was air-lifted to hospital after a road accident in Ossett two years ago.

The incident was featured on BBC One’s Helicopter Heroes after Siobhan, 12, rode in front of a car while playing on a friend’s bike.

Siobhan suffered a broken leg but has since made a full recovery.

Mrs Clarkson, of Horbury, said: “The air ambulance is funded by donations and fundraising and they need £10,000 per day.

“They can have patients in hospital in minutes when it can be a matter of life or death.”

There will be a raffle at the fundraiser, which starts at 7pm.

Performers at the fundraiser which starts at 7pm, will include Catherine Cooper, Lareena Mitchell, Danny Tetley and Lee Lambert.

For tickets, which cost £3, call Mrs Clarkson on 07794 578221 or e-mail kazclarkson@yahoo.co.uk
