A new youth group for people with autism and Asperger’s syndrome will be launched in Portobello tomorrow.

Teenagers and young adults are invited to find out about Fusion Youth Group from 5.30pm at Portobello Community Centre, on Portobello Road.

Speakers at the event will include mayor of Wakefield June Cliffe and there will be live music from Fusion members.

A Raffle will be held with prizes donated from companies including Wakefield Wildcats, Cineworld, Toby Cavery and Kingfisher Fish and Chip Restaurant.

The group, set up for people with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s, will meet every Tuesday from 5.30pm-8.30pm at the community centre.

Membership costs £1 per week.

Fusion was launched by Craig and Karen Binns and already runs a youth group at SESKU Academy, Burntwood Community Centre, South Kirkby.

The South Kirkby club was launched last January and meetings on Fridays from 7pm-9pm at the centre on Church Mount.
