VOLUNTEERS are needed to help get the party started at this year’s Race for Life.
More than 2,220 women have already signed up to walk, run or jog the 5k route in Thornes Park on Sunday, July 17, but now the hunt is on to recruit an army of volunteers to help the event run smoothly.
Both men and women of all ages and abilities are needed to help.
Imogen Johnson, Cancer Research UK Event Manager for West Yorkshire, said “This is a perfect opportunity for everyone to volunteer and do something really positive to help beat cancer.
“There is a huge variety of important tasks that need to be done, in the months leading up to the event as well as on the day itself.
“Our volunteers have a great time working with other members of the community to create a hugely successful fundraising event. Without the dedication of local men and women, who volunteer their time and energy, our events simply wouldn’t be possible.”
