city estate agent Holroyd Miller is backing a homeless organisation which is tackling poverty in the district.

The company, based at George and Crown Yard, has donated a box of essentials to help the Community Awareness Programme (CAP) give a lifeline to vulnerable people.

Wood Street-based CAP, provides household products, food parcels, clothes and furniture for people hit by poverty, homelessness and unemployment.

The boxes of essentials help poor families make ends meet when moving into a new home.

Simon Miller, partner at the company, said: “CAP provides a very valuable service in our district.

“We wanted to help and will continue to support CAP to ensure our local needy are not neglected.”

CAP co-founder and trustee Elisabeth Hibbert said: “It’s important for us that we receive assistance and support from local businesses as the need for our service is increasing every year.”
