Horbury Victoria Brass Band will star on Sky TV tonight in a special programme following their journey in the annual Yorkshire Brass Band Championships.
The programme follows the battle of Yorkshire bands at the 2012 Regional Championships in Bradford, as they fight for a place in the National Finals at Cheltenham and London.
Crocodile Media, who produced the programme, followed Horbury Victoria’s road to the competition and their final contest to get to the nationals, as well as the journey of City of Bradford and Grimethorpe Colliery bands.
Arnold Tattersfield, Horbury Victoria’s Band Secretary said: “It was certainly an experience being filmed for TV. The crew filmed us during our rehearsals for the Regional Championships last January and February and did some interviews with our conductors.
“And then they came to film us on the day of the Championships last March.
“Our performances went really well and we won the Yorkshire Regional Championship and went on to take second place at Cheltenham.”
The programme, called ‘Brassed Off’, is one of six episodes in Sky One’s documentary series ‘Greatest Little Britons’.
Watch the show at 10pm tonight.
